The Preamble

What They Say: We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

What We Say: The Preamble gives us the goal to achieve and the rest of the Constitution tells us how to do that. Although the Constitution was made by our Founding Fathers, the ideas have changed and altered as the government has changed. 


I choose this video from School House Rock because most children have seen it. I am not sure if schools still play this for their students, but the video was pretty catchy when I first seen it. This video is easy for children to understand and it gives a little insight about the U.S Constitution without giving kids migraines when they try to figure out how it was created. It's like giving someone without any knowledge in mechanics and gifting them 101 in Mechanics: For Dummies (Not that we or kids are dumb in any way)
